This is an important module in series of courses, designed to provide the student with a solid foundation of knowledge of how to work Thai Massage in all of the 4-positions (Supine, Side Lying, Seated, Prone). In Module 1, the positions of Supine and Seated are introduced.

The form of Thai Yoga Massage technique taught in this course incorporates gentle rocking, deep stretching and rhythmic compression to create a truly unique and therapeutic massage experience for the recipient. It is both relaxing and therapeutic.

What you will learn in this course:

  • Learn a total of 68-Thai Yoga Massage sequences for the entire body with the recipient in the Supine and Seated positions, from feet up to the head.
  • Learn how to apply Thai Yoga Massage using your feet, elbows, forearms, thumbs and palms to target the legs, feet, hips and back to create a dynamic and unique repertoire for your clients.
  • Learn the history, rules, methods, benefits, directions and abbreviations of Thai Yoga Massage.
  • The use of acupressure, reflexology and compressions will be applied on the 'Sen Energy Lines' to initiate the movement of internal energy in the body. The Sen Lines are similar to those found in Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Classroom studies will include work on 3-major lines for the legs (Kalathari, Itta, Pingkala, Sahatsarangsi & Thawari), plus 1-major line on the upper body and arms (Kalathari). The health benefits of working these lines will also be explored.
  • Learn how to perform assisted Inversion Yoga Stretches such as 'Shoulder Stand', 'Plow', 'Frog' and 'Happy Baby', plus some popular Yogic stretches in the seated position such as 'Cat-Cow'.
  • You will have lots of opportunity to both practice and receive on your partner during the course. Each segment begins with introduction and Teacher Demonstration, after which time, students are guided through their practice. Begin with short sequences and progressively lengthen the time. Students have the opportunity to practice a 1-hour Thai Yoga Massage in class on their partner. After your training, you will be able to offer up to a 2-hour massage, if not longer. There is a lot of wonderful material in this course and you will be able to pick and choose and customize your treatments to match the needs of your clients.
  • Sequences of the Thai Massage & Yogic Stretches are presented in a step-by-step sequence in your workbook and include diagrams and abbreviations that describe each step. This makes it easier to follow along for your future practice.

What is included in this course:

  • Workbook that includes picture diagrams and detailed abbreviated descriptions of the step-by-step sequences.
  • Pre-class YouTube Video: 'Sen Energy Lines' - how to locate and work the 3 major lines of the legs
  • Unlimited 90-day Video On-Demand Access to Zoom Media recordings of a similar training event. The link(s) will be provided to you approximately 7 days after you have completed your training.

This Table-based Course is perfect for students who are looking to explore what Thai Massage is all about!

This course gives you a little bit of what is learned from both the Traditional Thai Yoga Massage Module 1 & Module 2 Mat-based courses and explores Thai Massage sequences and yogic like stretches with the recipient in the Supine, Prone & Side Lying Positions. If you are limited for space in your studio/massage clinic, or cannot get down on a mat to work comfortably on a client, then this course is for you! What you will learn in this course:

• Explore the healing potential of Thai Massage! This 2,500 year old healing wisdom incorporates the use of 'Metta' that is taken from the Buddhist philosophy of imparting loving kindness on all beings and is often referred to as the Lazy Person's Yoga. Recent research has found Thai Massage to have positive health benefits to easing low back pain, enhancing flexibility, lowering blood pressure and opening up the internal energy flow of the body to increase overall health.

• Learn a combination of Northern and Southern style Thai Massage and Passive Thai Yoga Stretches, as it can be applied on the Massage Table - the Practitioner has the option to either stay on the floor, or to move up and on/off the Table. Many possibilities will be explored.

• Learn 10-Reflexology points for the feet, how to work 3-major 'Sen Energy Lines' of legs and arms, Thai Yoga stretches for hip flexors, quadriceps, hamstrings, calves, shoulders, triceps, chest, plus R.O.M. for hips and spine.

• Learn a 60 - 90 min. full body Thai Massage sequence to include massage for back, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, face, scalp and the entire lower body.

• All students will be sent a reading assignment in advance of the course.

Foot Reflexology is an ancient form of Massage that has been used for more than 3,000 years to stimulate the body's internal organs as well as blood and lymph circulation. It is a non-invasive health technique that recognizes that parts of the body such as the feet, reflect the whole body.

What makes Thai Foot Reflexology different from that of Traditional Foot Reflexology is the unique use of the re-useable wooden tool - this greatly helps to decrease stress on thumbs and other joints while performing the treatment on clients.

What you will learn in this course:

  • How to stimulate 58-Reflex Zones, using a wooden massage tool, along with using flat knuckle slides on the plantar, medial & lateral sides of the foot, as well as the toes. This is combined with thumb slides on the dorsal surface of the foot.
  • The work on the Reflex Zones will be combined with 31-cream based massage techniques using hands, palms and fingers to relax lower legs and massage feet & ankles.
  • Learn how to perform a 60-min. Traditional Thai Foot Reflexology & Massage treatment in a step-by-step manner, using a picture workbook.
  • This treatment may be performed on a massage table, in a chair, or bed or on the floor mat.

What is included in this course:

  • Workbook - includes full colour Reflexology Chart, step-by-step descriptions and pictures, plus full list of 58-Reflexology Zones, health benefits and locations
  • Re-Useable Wooden Reflexology Stick
  • Unlimited 120-day Video On-Demand Access to the Zoom Media recordings of this training event.

How does the Livestreaming Online Course work?

  • If you are participating in a Livestreaming Event, you would plan to attend the course virtually in real time, using Zoom Media. At the time of your registration, please indicate that you wish to attend on the specified dates of the scheduled course. You will need to set the date(s) and time aside, just as though you were to attend in-person. Each event will indicate which Time Zone it is, so that if you are in another Province, you may adjust the time accordingly.

  • Upon registration for a Livestreaming Event, you will be sent an email to confirm the time and dates. You will also be sent the Zoom Meeting Links, which will be used to click on to sign in and access the Live Meeting the day(s) of the course.

  • If you are not currently a member of Zoom Media, you can create an account for Free. Click here to register as a new Zoom User for Free.

  • It would be ideal to make arrangements to have 1 or more body models scheduled into the day(s) of training, so that you can practice in real time, along with the rest of the class. You don't need to have someone for the entire day(s) - aim to have someone for a while in the morning (after 10:30AM) and then again in the afternoon, after the lunchbreak at 1:30PM or later. When no body model is available, it is OK for students to simply observe and make notes.

  • Students will be able to participate in questions throughout the day(s), as well as have technique checks by the Instructor - just like attending the event in-person.

  • Certificates of Completion: Livestreaming students are eligible for a Certificate of Completion after they have virtually attended 100% of the course. If 100% attendance is not possible, it is OK for the student to finish studying the course at their own pace with recorded Zoom Videos of the event - this will require a 1-hour Zoom Private Evaluation Meeting with the Instructor, before a Certificate is issued and sent in the mail.
